Applies to all electrical equipment and wiring of an industrial machine for connection to a supply not exceeding 650 V and primarily to equipment which is attached to machines which are wired or prepared for wiring before they leave the machine manufacturer’s works. Covers also the application of electrical components (such as control apparatus, motors, wiring and accessories) to individually driven industrial machines. Does not apply to hand portable or self-propelled machines; lifts; electric furnac es and machines used substantially for heating; or to welding, marine, mining and medical equipment.
